Biofuel!!! Is it a sustainable fuel?

Biofuel is solid, liquid or gaseous form of fuel derived from biological material and is different from fossil fuels. Recently Biofuel becoming very popular in the western world as people becoming aware of emission from fossil fuel. Biofuels are using now to power vehicles, heating homes, and for cooking. Biofuel industries are expanding all over the world. For biofuel production crops containing high in sugar, starch and high amounts of vegetable oil are using widely. For producing raw materials of biofuel a large size of agricultural land switching from production of other grain production to biofuel raw material production. As big companies are expanding their business in this field forest are converting to agricultural land. As their motto is to more raw material production from less time and land mass , various fossil fuel driven agro machineries , fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and high yielding verities (HYV)or genetically modified seed are using to boost their business.
There is no doubt that use of biofuel is beneficial for environment as it is not emitting harmful gases to the environment. Developing word making their environment green by the cost environmental destruction in raw material producing county. Price of grain, vegetable oil are hiking as these items used for biofuel production and large number of people in developing countries failing to buy their basic needs. Intensive agriculture system followed for raw material production use high amount of fertilizers, pesticide herbicides which adversely affecting soil and water quality. Use of genetically modified seed and practice of mono culture affecting plant species biodiversity and cause extinction of native species.
